On Saturday, September 8th until October 7th, the Erie County Botanical gardens presents their Succulent Show.  Succulents are the plants with the thick leaves that hold more water than regular plants, but not as much as a cactus.  A common succulent, which will be at the show, is Hens and Chicks

The show will feature a wide variety of cacti as well as succulents.

While you’re at the Gardens, don’t forget to check out the outdoor gardens before the end of summer.  There are several gardens around the left side of the greenhouses which you don’t walk by on your walk from the parking lot to the entrance.  Be sure to see them while you’re there.
