Visit the Iron Island Museum

Payroll Tax calendar of the day:  Monthly taxes for September are due October 15th.  If making federal deposits using EFTPS, the info must be submitted by 8 p.m. Eastern time, the day before you wish the deposit to be made.

Looking for an inexpensive, but interesting, tour?   The Iron Island Museum has a lot to offer.  The area became known as Iron Island because it is surrounded on all 4 sides by railroad tracks.  Among the many items on  display are numerous railroad artifacts, such as railroad spikes and signs.

The museum includes local railroad artifacts

There are many other interesting items too.   One of rooms, dedicated to our veterans, includes vintage uniforms donated by the vets themselves as well as other artifacts from our local military.

Vintage uniforms were donated by home town vets.

The current home of the museum, a former church and funeral home, has been the site of numerous hauntings and apparitions. Be sure to check out the Hauntings tab.

They offer guided ghost tours and even overnight stays to observe the paranormal activities for yourself.  Large crowds are anticipated this October, so be sure to call ahead for reservations.
