Payroll tax calendar of the day:  Monthly deposits for September are due October 15th.  If you have new banking info, don’t forget to change it if filing on-line and using the “remember bank account” feature.  If you were a HSBC customer, you need to change your routing number even if your account number stayed the same.  If you are required to file only quarterly, and you were converted to Key Bank, this may be the first payment you will be making since the conversion.

The Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium is currently showing a very interesting program about the end of the Mayan calendar.  They explain the Mayan numbering system, how the calendar works, and why December 21st means the end of a cycle, not the end.  They also explain each theory of doom ( I never realized there were so many different scenarios as to how we’re supposed to perish), and why it’s not going to happen.
