Payroll tax calendar of the day:  Monthly deposits for November are due December 17th.

Santa has already been in some of the malls for almost  two weeks now, and that just seems too soon!  When one of the TV reporters asked a mall representative if this was too soon for Santa’s arrival, her reply was that Christmas was never too soon for the children.   I’m not sure about that.

When I was little, every year my mom would take me to Woolworth’s on the day after Thanksgiving to see their display and pick out an ornament to purchase.   In retrospect, the display must have been quite small as the local store was small, but at the time it looked wonderous.  Seeing the Christmas displays and decorations was almost as exciting as deciding which ornament to  take home.

This was a very special event each year which I always looked forward to.  Looking back, I wonder if it would have been nearly as exciting if all the decorations had been on display for several weeks.

Sometimes anticipation is half the fun.

The Woolworth display was a cherished memory
